There is a James Albert Herbert marrying an Annie Maria Snook in Fremantle in 1865, according to http://www.justice.wa.gov.au/_apps/pioneersindex/default.aspx so you will be able to get their marriage certificate and start from there.
There are two “John Snook”s in the death register one in 1916 and one in 1887. There’s a Charles W Snook passing away in 1948. But he doesn’t appear on the Marriages search.
