One of the West Indies International 1997-2005, Mervyn Dillon was seen as the heir to the great West Indian Courtney Walsh and Curtley Ambrose. Born in Toco – a city coast on the north coast of Trinidad – Mervyn Dillon became a large, dry, fast, medium and a bowler for just less competent drummer. Even had much of the weapons that once attracted the attention of the illustrious Marshal Malcolm in 1996.
Dillon has been rejected by the selectors of the West Indies at the age 31, a victim of reasonable expectations high. Statistics show that Dillon was a good bowler strain that can be expected to provide ATMs. However, he also served on many shots juicy half-volleys and guards harmless grateful for drummers.
Geoff Boycott said Dillon leave annoying to make large deliveries, but he uses too many 'four balls ", which makes it expensive.
In his career, Dillon has received 131 ATMs Test 38 games with an average of 33.57. His statements of ODI were 130 ATMs from 108 matches with an economy rate of 4.61. While the "Big Merv "was not the rabbit stick, bat sometimes comical and more ambitious. It even seemed as if Courtney Walsh threatened to record the highest number of" ducks " in a test match.
Despite his return to international cricket a cricket makes it above average, Dillon's efforts have often been neglected it was not the bowler, WI selectors felt the strike should be. It was the attacking player for Trinidad and well in this capacity. At trial, however, Mervyn Dillon was a bowler of populations, which could take wickets. The expectations of him were perhaps too high.
A comparison of the current one generation of bowlers that demonstrates the precarious state of West Indies Cricket is due to fundamental problems and is not simply a matter of finding top players bowling of Dillon. Daren Powell – considered a strike bowler in the team of 2008, had a grand total of 73 branches in 30 test matches at an average low of 47.28 (up December 12, 2008). This was acceptable when Daren Powell was not a "rabbit" with the bat. Powell needs an average of 82 balls to get a ring in a test match against 66.4 per Dillon.
The high arm action Mervyn Dillon was really beautiful to see. In their work, Dillon was able to provide really fast delivery with speeds up to 140 km / hr. His consistency in placing the ball often leaves much to be desired. However, the career of Mervyn Dillon West Indies's was terminated prematurely by saying that young people, faster bowlers should be given a chance. The fact that these young players more quickly pale in comparison to Mervyn Dillon is a strong denunciation of the West Indies Cricket.
Return Mervyn Dillon International Very unlikely, at the age of 35 years (in 2009). There has retired from first class cricket, but has set aside to allow younger players to exit quick Trinidad and Tobago. Even in the twilight of his career, "Big Merv" still has many rescues him.
